02 main roles in MooseDesk #
In MooseDesk, there are 02 main roles:
- Store owner role: has full access to all features, including delete, deactivate members or change member information, role, …
- Member role: has full access to all features, however, cannot delete, deactivate other members or change their information, role, …
Invite members to MooseDesk #
Merchants can invite other members to the team and use MooseDesk in 02 ways:
- Add members in MooseDesk: with this method, you will add other members to use MooseDesk (standalone version). This will make them a Member role.
To do this please follow these steps:
Once your members accept the invitation, they can start using MooseDesk inside Shopify Admin
- Step 1: In MooseDesk app, navigate to Settings > Member and permission
- Step 2: Navigate to Teams > Member > Click “Add new member”
- Step 3: Fill member information
- Step 4: Click “Send invitation email”
Once your members receive the email, they can create their new password and login to MooseDesk standalone version and use MooseDesk there.
- Invite Shopify staff account: With this method, other members will use MooseDesk (embed version) in Shopify Admin, therefore can use MooseDesk like a store owner.
To do this please follow these steps:
- Step 1: From Shopify Admin, click “Settings” at the bottom of the page
- Step 2: Navigate to “Users and permissions” > Click “Add staff”
- Step 3: In “App permissions”, choose MooseDesk
- Step 4: Click “Send invite”
What method should I use? #
You can use any method you feel comfortable with.
Inviting members through MooseDesk is a more secure way than adding a Shopify staff account with MooseDesk app access
However if you are a group of store owners, adding a Shopify staff account with MooseDesk app access is an easier way to use MooseDesk right inside Shopify Admin.
