This article will help you understand how to create, edit and arrange FAQ categories in MooseDesk
What is an FAQ page? #
MooseDesk Category is a feature created to make you easily group your articles. Categories can be addressed as article-containers. Categories only show in FAQ templates that follow a container-grouping system.

How to create a category in MooseDesk? #
- Step 1: Click on FAQ builder
- Step 2: Hit “Add new” > Choose “Add new category”
- Step 3: Fill all required information such as Title, and optional information such as Description, Icon.
Once finished, Hit “Save”
You can find your category in the Category view
You can also add new category while writing an article by clicking the category field and click the option to quickly create a new category
How to edit a category in MooseDesk? #
- Step 1: Click on FAQ builder > Select Category view
- Step 2: Find the category you want to edit and click the “More actions” icon on the right ()
- Step 3: Click “Edit” option
- Step 4: Edit the category information as you like
How to arrange categories in MooseDesk? #
You can also arrange categories as you like by following the same simple steps:
- Step 1: Click on FAQ builder > Select Category view
- Step 2: From the Category view, click the icon of the category you want to move, and drag it to the place where you want
How to arrange articles inside a category in MooseDesk? #
You can arrange articles inside a category by following these simple steps:
- Step 1: Click on FAQ builder > Select Category view
- Step 2: From the Category view, click the icon of the article you want to move, and drag it to the place where you want
Note that you cannot drag an article from a category to another category. Instead, you need to use the Move article function – which will be introduced right below
How to put articles to a category #
You can put an article into a category when writing the article by choosing the category destination for it
You can put multiple articles into a category by following these simple steps:
- Step 1: Click on FAQ builder > Select Category view
- Step 2: Find the category you want to add articles into > click the “More actions” icon on the right ()
- Step 3: Click “Add article” option
- Step 4: Tick all the articles you want to put into the category
- Step 5: Hit “Add to category”
How to move an article to another category #
- Step 1: Click on FAQ builder > Select Category view
- Step 2: Find the article you want to move and click the “More actions” icon on the right ()
- Step 3: Click “Move” option
- Step 4: Click on the category field > Select a category from the list
- Step 5: Click “Save”
